The Girl and the Snake

Liquid jade winding softly
in underbrush and shadows slowly
glimmer off of emerald shining
beauty's grace can be so deadly

She sits alone in contemplation
waiting for her revelation
eyes that glint and lust to have her
and wrap her world in suffocation

Like water rushing in a river
the serpents scales become her lover
around his love he curls in passion
in willing desire to consume her

and so the two become as one
swallowed flesh becomes undone
and life becomes a dying ember
that flickers like a memory gone
