rooted groin
planted petal deep
growing wild like cornflowers
hidden in the darkness
buried beneath
autumn leaves
burnt like sparrows' sorrow
wept with that which is forbidden
the soil
so dark and green
with innocence
and with truth
so deep it is blind
for only the scarecrow sees
into the secret shadows

manifest | covet | exhume | possess | bleed | breathe
