o::  dancing with death ::

mists creep over granite
crumbling decay
letters worn smooth
so not even his name remains
here lies my lover in death-sleep eternal
dreaming dreams of dead things
creeping through a cobwebbed mind
of dusty bones and brain decayed
awake sweet death to dance with me

I hear the winds weep a mournful nocturne
as I dance in the shadow of death
and darkness sweeps over me
the writhing mists
vaporous limbs twirling and bending
branches sway and leaves pirouette
the brush of autumn's breath
against my naked neck
frozen whispers
stale plumes of eternal decay
icy fingertips grazing my lips
kisses sickly sweet that leave me gasping
rhythms moving me to madness
as my bloody footprints
disappear beneath the undulating earth
